just installed msd btm& stock tach doesn't work

just installed my msd a few hours ago. but know my stock tach doesn't work. any ideas?
is this suppose to happen?

You need to get a tach signal amplifier kit from MSD... the part number is 8910 I believe... the return tach signal to the ECU is too weak to drive the tach...

Is this for the BTM or the 6BTM? I installed a BTM and I haven't noticed that my stock tach isn't working. Should I worry about this? Thanks.

Odd, I just installed my 6BTM and I haven't had any problems with the tach. You should at least recheck your wiring.

BTW, do you have the MSD BTM universal unit or the BTM that works w/ MSD ingitions?

He has the universal. I helped him figure out how to wire it up. Weird, I never had a problem with my tach and I have the same BTM.
